Armagh’s food and drink scene will take centre stage this September as the Armagh Food & Cider Festival returns for four days of local produce, cider and hands-on experiences.

The festival will run from 3 to 6 September 2026, with more than 40 experiences planned across the Orchard County. Its programme will be centred on the world-famous PGI Armagh Bramley Apple and will showcase the people, producers and stories connected to the region’s food and drink tradition.

What is planned for the festival

Visitors will be able to choose from a wide range of food, drink and orchard-themed activities. The programme includes fire-cooked feasts, orchard tours, artisan markets, cocktail masterclasses and afternoon teas.

Among the featured events is the Woodland Supper, where guests can dine beneath the trees. The festival will also offer the chance to explore a working cider orchard with Long Meadow Cider, giving visitors a closer look at the production behind Armagh’s cider offering.

For those looking for a more unusual evening, Cider & Screams will take the form of a murder mystery experience designed to test guests’ detective skills. Another event, Cooking with Fire, will focus on preparing food over an open fire in a hands-on setting.

Orchards, producers and local food

Family-run orchards, cider makers, chefs and artisan producers will be at the heart of the event. The festival is intended to offer more than tastings, by highlighting the people and methods behind the products being served.

That emphasis reflects Armagh’s established orchard identity and the importance of the Bramley apple to the festival. Over the four-day programme, visitors will be able to move between orchard-based activities, food events and producer-led experiences.

For residents, the festival offers an opportunity to explore local food and cider close to home. Visitors will be offered a concentrated introduction to Armagh’s produce, hospitality and orchard culture, with activities ranging from relaxed afternoon tea to more interactive experiences.
