Armagh’s food and drink scene will take centre stage from 3 to 6 September 2026, when the Armagh Food & Cider Festival returns for four days of local produce, cider and hands-on experiences.

More than 40 experiences are planned across the festival, which is centred on the world-famous PGI Armagh Bramley Apple. The programme aims to showcase the people, producers and stories behind the Orchard County’s food and drink tradition.

What to expect at the Armagh festival

The programme brings together food, drink and activities designed to give visitors different ways to experience the region’s orchard culture. Options include fire-cooked feasts, orchard tours, artisan markets, cocktail masterclasses and afternoon teas.

One of the featured events is the Woodland Supper, where guests can dine beneath the trees. Visitors can also explore a working cider orchard with Long Meadow Cider, offering a closer look at the production behind Armagh’s cider offering.

For those seeking a more unusual evening, Cider & Screams is a murder mystery experience that puts guests’ detective skills to the test. The festival programme also includes Cooking with Fire, a hands-on event focused on preparing food over an open fire.

Local orchards and producers at the centre

Family-run orchards, cider makers, chefs and artisan producers are at the heart of the event. The festival is intended to be about more than tasting local food and drink: it will also highlight the people and methods behind the products.

That focus reflects Armagh’s established orchard identity and the importance of the Bramley apple to the festival. During the four-day programme, visitors will be able to move between orchard-based activities, food events and producer-led experiences.

Residents can use the festival as an opportunity to explore local food and cider close to home, while visitors will be offered a concentrated introduction to Armagh’s produce, hospitality and orchard culture. The programme ranges from relaxed afternoon tea to more interactive activities.
