Booking a community centre or town hall across the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon council area has moved online with the launch of a new digital booking system.
The platform is intended to make it easier for residents, voluntary groups, businesses and other organisations to find suitable spaces and manage their bookings. Users can view available community facilities, explore additional and support resources, check availability, and submit or manage booking requests online.
What the new system offers
Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council said the system would also raise awareness of the community centres and town halls available across the borough. The aim is to make the facilities more accessible and support their continued use as places where people can meet and take part in local activities.
The council provides affordable, flexible and accessible spaces across 14 facilities. These comprise 10 community centres and four town halls, offering venues for meetings, classes, events and performances.
Facilities available for community use
Existing activities hosted in the facilities include parties, health and wellbeing programmes, recreation and social hubs, as well as private and business functions. The council said the venues are used by voluntary, toddler, hobby and support groups.
Welcoming the change, Lord Mayor Councillor Mary O’Dowd said: “We have a fantastic range of community facilities across the borough, which are used by voluntary, toddler, hobby and support groups. The new online booking system supports our aim of ensuring that community facilities remain well-used, vibrant and accessible places that bring people together to enrich community life.”
