The Killuney Road roundabout in Armagh city has been closed following what police described as a serious collision on the Portadown Road.

The closure was reported on the morning of Friday, 21 August 2026. Police said local diversions were in place and advised motorists to avoid the area where possible.

In a subsequent update, police said additional diversion points had been established to manage traffic around the collision scene.

  • At College Hill/Mall east, by the Courthouse.
  • At Victoria Road for traffic travelling towards Portadown.
  • At Stonebridge roundabout for traffic travelling towards Armagh.

Drivers travelling through Armagh should seek an alternative route for their journey if possible, as the closure and diversions may affect movements on and around the Portadown Road.

“Motorists are advised of a serious collision on the Portadown Road, Armagh. The Killuney Road roundabout is closed. Local diversions are in place.”

“Following a serious road traffic collision on the Portadown Road in Armagh, further diversions are in place at College Hill/Mall east at the Courthouse, at Victoria Road for Portadown bound traffic and Stonebridge roundabout for Armagh bound traffic. Drivers should avoid the area or seek an alternative route for their journey if possible.”
