Armagh readers will have the chance to hear from one of Ireland’s most celebrated writers when Booker Prize-winning author John Banville visits Armagh City Library this week.
Banville will appear at the library on Thursday, October 22, at 3pm for an afternoon conversation with Martin Doyle, Books Editor of The Irish Times. The event will explore books, writing and a literary career spanning more than five decades.
What the Armagh event will cover
The discussion will include Banville’s latest novel, Venetian Vespers, along with the ideas and inspiration behind his writing. His acclaimed works include The Sea.
Martin Doyle will also bring experience from interviewing some of Ireland’s leading literary figures. His new book, A Hosting: Interviews with Irish Writers 1991–2026, will form part of the event’s wider literary context.
