Dromore residents who want to explore their roots can take part in a free beginner’s course on researching family history this November.
Organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, the course is designed for people new to genealogy. It will introduce participants to the essential steps involved in tracing a family tree, exploring historical records and learning more about their heritage.
Three sessions at Dromore Community Centre
The course will be delivered over three consecutive Tuesdays: 3, 10 and 17 November. Each session will run from 10.30am until 12.30pm at Dromore Community Centre.
The programme will be led by the ABC Family History Association and is intended to provide practical, step-by-step guidance for beginners. Participants must be able to attend all three sessions in order to register.
Limited places available
Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is open to people who live within the ABC council area.
The initiative is funded through The Executive Office’s District Councils Good Relations Programme. Residents can book online using the registration form: book a place on the course.
The council’s announcement also directs anyone seeking further information to contact the organisers, although no contact details are included in the supplied notice.
