A hidden piece of Armagh’s architectural heritage will open to the public next September, when No. 5 Vicars’ Hill welcomes visitors for European Heritage Open Days 2026.
The historic building will be open on Saturday 12 September and Sunday 13 September 2026. Admission is free, giving local residents and visitors the opportunity to explore the property without an entry charge.

No. 5 Vicars’ Hill is in Armagh. It will open from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, while Sunday opening hours will be from 2pm to 5pm.

A closer look at the building
Although the building has a modest appearance from the outside, organisers say it contains exceptional 18th-century craftsmanship and historic interiors. The open-house event will give visitors the chance to step inside and see those features for themselves.
The building was designed by Thomas Cooley. During the visit, people can learn more about the traditions and skills used in its construction, as well as explore its place in the heritage of the Hill of Armagh.
