Scaffolding has gone up at Danske Bank’s listed branch on Scotch Street in Armagh as a programme of exterior restoration work gets under way.
The branch is expected to remain open throughout the project, which Danske Bank says will take several weeks. Customers will continue to be welcomed while work is carried out on the historic building.
What the restoration work includes
The project will involve painting and plastering, along with essential repairs to the building’s chimneys and roof. The original cast-iron guttering and metal railings are also due to be restored as part of the work.

This is an important investment in our beautiful branch building and reinforces our commitment to our customers and the Armagh community. It will help preserve the character of this historic building for years to come.”

The Scotch Street building is also home to Danske Bank’s local business and private banking managers. They work alongside the branch to support personal and business customers in the local area.
The restoration represents an investment in the appearance and fabric of the listed building while allowing normal customer access to continue during the works. No changes to the branch’s opening status during the project were stated beyond the confirmation that it will remain open.
