City of Armagh High School was filled with excitement as pupils collected their GCSE results, with the school reporting that 84.5% of students completing five or more GCSEs or equivalent qualifications achieved grades A*-C.

The results were described as reflecting both the school’s commitment to meeting the needs of all learners and the determination of its Class of 2026. Pupils gathered at the Armagh school to receive their results and celebrate their achievements.

Personalised pathways praised

Principal Mrs Mulholland praised the students for their hard work and highlighted the success of the school’s personalised pathway system. The approach allows pupils to pursue courses suited to their individual strengths and ambitions.

She also recognised the partnership between City of Armagh High School and Southern Regional College. Among pupils studying occupational courses through the partnership, 92% achieved grades A*-C.

Several subjects record 100% pass rates

The school said several subjects recorded a 100% A*-C pass rate. They were Further Mathematics, Home Economics, BTEC ICT, BTEC Business, French and Geography.

Mathematics and English were also reported to have shown significant improvement, adding to the school’s overall results-day success.

Mrs Mulholland said she was proud of the Class of 2026 and congratulated pupils on their achievements. She wished them every success in the future as they move on to their next stage of education or training.
