City of Armagh High School has celebrated the GCSE results of its Class of 2026 after pupils collected their grades at the school on Thursday.
The results day brought excitement to the school, with 84.5% of students who completed five or more GCSEs or equivalent qualifications achieving grades A*–C. The school said the outcome reflected its commitment to meeting the needs of all learners, as well as the determination of the pupils receiving their results.
Personalised pathways highlighted
Principal Mrs Mulholland praised the pupils for their hard work and pointed to the school’s personalised pathway system as an important part of the results. The system allows students to pursue courses suited to their individual strengths and ambitions.
The school also highlighted its partnership with Southern Regional College. Among pupils studying occupational courses through that partnership, 92% achieved grades A*–C.
That vocational result formed part of a wider set of subject successes reported by the school, with several subjects recording a 100% A*–C pass rate.
Six subjects recorded 100% A*–C pass rate
The subjects listed were Further Mathematics, Home Economics, BTEC ICT, BTEC Business, French and Geography. Mathematics and English were also reported to have shown significant improvement.
