Two students from Armagh are celebrating major academic successes after Southern Regional College (SRC) reported an overall A-Level pass rate of 96.6%.
Chloe Bruce achieved an A in Geography and Bs in English Literature and Psychology. The Armagh student hopes to continue her studies on a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education at Stranmillis University College.
Jessica Livingstone, also from Armagh, achieved Distinction, Distinction, Merit after completing a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science. She hopes to take up a Higher-Level Apprenticeship in Bioscience.
Strong results across SRC
The results were issued on August 13, 2026, as thousands of students across Northern Ireland received their grades. SRC said its overall pass rate reflected students’ hard work, commitment and determination throughout the academic year.
Biology, English Literature and Religious Studies were among the subjects recording a 100% pass rate. The college said the results demonstrated the quality of teaching and learning across its A-Level provision.
Achievement extended beyond traditional A-Levels, with a number of students securing three BTEC Distinction Stars, graded D*D*D*. The result is equivalent to three A* grades at A-Level.
Armagh campus offers 13 AS and A2 subjects
SRC’s A-Level Academy at its Armagh campus offers 13 AS and A2 subjects. The curriculum includes STEM options such as Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, alongside Government and Politics, Nutrition and Food Science, Sociology and Psychology.
The college says the broad programme is designed to provide a strong foundation for higher education, apprenticeships and future careers.
“This year’s A-Level results are a fantastic reflection of the hard work our students have shown throughout the year, as well as the incredible support from our teaching staff who have helped every student reach their potential.”
Stephen Rogan, Head of Faculty for Computing, Design and Academic Studies at SRC, said the college was also proud of the confidence and independence students had developed during their studies.
He said students moving on to university, apprenticeships or employment were ready to embrace new opportunities, and wished them success in their next steps.

SRC welcomes students taking A-Levels for the first time, as well as applicants who want to study one or more AS or A-Level subjects.
