Armagh residents are being invited to take note of a busy run of council-backed initiatives and events, ranging from a new digital skills programme to a sold-out gathering that attracted more than 1,200 people.
The updates were published by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council in August 2026 and cover activities taking place across the borough, including at Navan Centre & Fort and Portadown People’s Park.
Digital and creative support
A new Digital Future Programme is being developed to improve digital skills, promote inclusion and encourage innovation across the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough. The council described the programme as part of its work towards “building a stronger, connected borough”.
The council also announced the launch of a Makers Support Forum. The initiative is intended to bring together makers, creatives and artisan businesses, providing a dedicated focus on the borough’s creative and artisan business community.
Family and community events
Families were invited to attend a free day of activities at Portadown People’s Park, where the annual Good Relations event was set to offer “fun, friendship and community spirit”. The council said the park was preparing to welcome families for the event.
In another recent activity, 40 young children, parents and carers took part in a Family Gardening Workshop at the Natural World Products No-Dig Garden. The session was described as an opportunity to combine nature and learning.
Culture in the Park and Navan success
The council urged residents to save the date for Culture in the Park, describing it as one of the year’s most anticipated cultural celebrations and promising a packed programme of events.
Navan Centre & Fort also reported a strong turnout for its annual Wickerman Gathering. The event drew more than 1,200 attendees and was sold out, in what the venue described as a record-breaking gathering.
Residents can follow the council’s news updates for further information about the Digital Future Programme, the Makers Support Forum and upcoming events.
