People with information about rural thefts across the South Area have only a limited time left to help claim a £3,500 reward offered by the independent charity Crimestoppers.
The reward relates to the theft of items including farm equipment, quad bikes and trade tools from people in rural communities. It was made available from 26 June for information given directly to Crimestoppers that results in the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Reward deadline approaching
The offer will expire on 26 September, after being available for three months. The South Area covers the policing districts of Mid Ulster, Fermanagh & Omagh, Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon, and Newry, Mourne & Down.
Inspector Brian St Ledger said the theft of agricultural equipment and tools could have a serious effect on independent workers, rural businesses and people’s livelihoods.
“Crimestoppers is completely independent of the police and the reward is paid directly by the charity.”
He urged anyone who knows about recent thefts of tools, quad bikes or other items from agricultural and rural properties and communities to come forward.

Crimestoppers says people who contact it remain completely anonymous, with their details not shared with police. The reward is paid directly by the charity, and information must result in both an arrest and a conviction for the £3,500 payment to apply.
